A 100 Credit

There are two forms of money out in the 'verse; The Alliance Credit which is distributed by the Alliance in the Core worlds, and Cash (or cashy money) which is what is used in the Rim worlds. Cash is not printed by the Alliance, and is also not acknowledged as real tender by them either. One cannot buy anything with Cash in the Core, and the reverse is true with Credits in the Rim.

Credits are maintained by the Alliance and carry the official Alliance seal. They are printed for the use of the system, but are only good in the Core and on the Midway worlds. Cash is printed and distributed by Rim mining worlds, Hestia being the major one, and is the only tender used on the edge. Credits can be turned into Cash and vise versa on most Midway planets.

Most transactions dealing with credits are not done by passing paper tender between parties (though it can be done) but through electronic means. ID cards linked to personal accounts and information are usually how transactions are processed. When it is person to person and no paper currency is used a datapad with ID cards inserted into it can also be used to transfer money between parties.
